The Royal Canadian Legion Courtenay Branch 17

The Royal Canadian Legion Courtenay Branch 17 donated $25,000 to support care for Veterans and seniors in the Comox Valley. This generous donation, from funds raised through the Poppy Campaign, brings the total given by the Courtenay Legion in support of healthcare in our community, to $230,000. Thank you for your continuous support! This year’s donation will be used to purchase ceiling lifts at The Views at St. Joseph’s long-term care home.

RBC Dominion Securities

On behalf of the RBC Foundation, a gift of $4,000 was presented to the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation to support the continued growth of the foundation and the important work in the community. “RBC has been a generous supporter of healthcare in our community with a long history of donations to areas such as pediatrics, cancer care, emergency, and surgical. We are grateful for their continued support” stated Jess Aldred.

Hope Afloat Canada Team (Comox Valley Dragon Boat Society)

The Hope Afloat Canada Team (Comox Valley Dragon Boat Society) raised over $2,600 in support of Cancer Care here at the Comox Valley Hospital – Thank you! We continue to be inspired by their team members and their longstanding commitment to cancer care.

Comox Valley Community Foundation

A huge thank you to the Comox Valley Community Foundation for a very generous donation of $57,421! The Comox Valley Community Foundation is a local charity dedicated to enriching lives in the Comox Valley.

As an endowment-based foundation, the CVCF ensures the long-term vitality of the community by investing funds in perpetuity and using revenue generated to support charitable organizations, like the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation!

TOTEM Rides Again!

In December the Totem Riders Motorcycle Club stopped by to drop off a cheque for $4,500 from their fundraising efforts, combined with three big bags of Teddy Bears/Stuffies for the Maternal Child care & Paediatrics Department here at the Hospital. They provide us with stuffies year-round. They have been supporting us since 1996, and have cumulatively donated close to $27,000 over that time.

A Gift from the Mighty Lions Club

Comox Valley Monarch Lions Club recently presented the Foundation with a $500 donation. Chartered in 1993, the Club’s small but mighty membership is dedicated to performing a variety of community service activities including raising funds for charities like ours and we thank the Lions Club and its members for their longstanding support and generosity. A Very Generous Donation from the Canadian Legion!

Courtenay Legion Branch 17 recently presented us with a very generous donation of $15,000. This donation goes towards The Views at St. Joseph’s to look after Veterans, Veterans families and seniors. We thank the Legion and all those who supported this fund raising! The cheque was presented to us from Courtenay Legion 2nd Vice President Lloyd Smith and Poppy Chair Dave Bell.

Quality Foods and Q-SHOP Helping Valley Seniors

Thank you to Comox’s Quality Foods location and the lovely volunteers at Q-SHOP (Seniors Helping Other People) for your generous donation directed to The Views at St. Joseph’s. This donation will help with facility and equipment upgrades to improve the quality of life for senior residents… from ceiling lifts for transferring folks in and out of bed to adjustable dining tables for a more comfortable meal experience.
