The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation is proud to celebrate the generosity and community spirit of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Courtenay.

On a recent visit, Foundation staff and mascot Beau joined the hotel’s hospitality team for a cheque presentation of $2,223. These funds are generated through the hotel’s patient and family discount program, which provides a 10% discount for patients and their families, offering both comfort and convenience during challenging times. A portion of proceeds from this program is directed back to local healthcare, bringing the hotel’s cumulative giving to $7,358.

This September, Holiday Inn Express & Suites has gone one step further by launching a Giving for Good campaign, part of a global InterContinental Hotels Group initiative. Across more than 100 countries, thousands of hotel staff are making a difference in their communities throughout the month. Locally, the Courtenay team is hosting a stuffed animal drive to benefit young patients at the Comox Valley Hospital.

Guests, staff, and community members are invited to drop off new, tagged stuffed animals at the hotel (310 Hunt Road, Courtenay) or donate directly to the Foundation’s Paediatric Stuffed Animal Program. These cuddly companions are used in hospital departments to comfort children during procedures, reduce stress, and brighten their healthcare journey.

“Holiday Inn Express & Suites has demonstrated outstanding dedication to supporting patients and families in our community,” said Rhonda Stevens, Co-Executive Director of the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation. “From their monthly giving program to their participation in the global Giving for Good campaign, their generosity brings comfort and care to those who need it most. We are deeply grateful for their partnership.”

“At Holiday Inn Express & Suites, we believe in giving back to the community we serve,” said Lorri Schafer, Director of Sales & Revenue Metropolitan Hospitality. “Supporting the Foundation allows us to make a difference not only for our guests but for the entire Comox Valley. We are proud to be part of the global Giving for Good initiative and even prouder to see its impact right here at home.”

The Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to Holiday Inn Express & Suites for their ongoing contributions, which continue to enhance patient care across the Comox Valley.
