Holiday Inn Express and Suites are “Giving for Good” this September
Throughout the month of September, Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 310 Hunt Road in Courtenay is hosting a stuffed toy drive benefitting young patients receiving care at the Comox Valley Hospital.
September is a special month at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG)—the collective of hotels spanning more than 100 countries. They dedicate the entire month to giving back. Thousands of hotel workers across the globe are doing good through gestures big or small. In Courtenay, staff and guests at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites are collecting as many stuffed animals as they can with the goal to help the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation provide over 5,000 plush toys annually through their Pediatric Stuffed Animal Program.
Stuffed animals are used in several departments throughout the hospital to help comfort children who need medical care. These soft, cuddly toys reduce stress and are wonderful for distracting, calming, or cheering up young patients.
Community members can also support the hotels’ Toonies for Tots initiative throughout September. As a thank-you for supporting the campaign, Holiday Inn Express is offering a 10% discount on meeting space rentals through December 2026 to anyone who donates stuffed animals or contributes to the Toonies for Tots collection.
The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to Holiday Inn Express & Suites Courtenay-Comox for their generous support and ongoing commitment to local healthcare through their stuffed animal collection, their monthly giving, and through event sponsorship.
Over the past three years, Holiday Inn Express has donated over $10,000 to the Foundation, supporting our top priorities and helping to improve patient care in our region. Their monthly contributions are generated from a portion of guests’ stay going back to local healthcare, made possible through their discounted rates for patients and their families. This thoughtful initiative not only provides financial support but also offers comfort and convenience to those navigating challenging times—just minutes from the hospital.
