Natalie’s Backyard Ultra
Driven to run and running to drive healthcare excellence, Natalie Pulsford is participating in the Comox Valley Road Runners’ Backyard Ultra this Saturday, July 26th, and we encourage everyone to head down to the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds to cheer her and eighty-four other running enthusiasts on as they run “a lap” every hour on the hour for as long as they can. For a fifth consecutive year, Natalie is turning her passion for running into something meaningful for our community by fundraising for local healthcare. Her goal is to raise $1,000 in support of new diagnostic equipment for the Comox Valley Hospital.
When? Saturday, July 26 at 8am until there is only one runner left - last year Natalie ran 114 kilometres (17 laps) and was the last woman standing!
Where? Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds, 4839 Headquarters Rd, Courtenay, BC
What? Beginning every hour on the hour, participants run roughly 6.706 km on a route through the forests, fields, and riverside trails surrounding the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds. In backyard ultra running, 6.706 km is called a “yard,” and 24 yards add up to 100 miles over 24 hours. Whether you run one lap or 24, it’s all about having fun, challenging yourself, and doing something together as a running community.
