CIBC grant contributes to advanced mammography equipment at Comox Valley Hospital

The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation (CVHF) is proud to recognize and thank CIBC for their generous $15,000 contribution in support of specialized equipment at Comox Valley Hospital (CVH), specifically the hospital’s new state-of-the-art mammography unit.

While the arrival of the new mammography equipment was first announced in November 2025, this meaningful grant—secured through a successful application—represents an important milestone in the overall funding of this critical diagnostic tool. CIBC confirms that this generous contribution forms part of the broader community effort that supported the acquisition of advanced mammography equipment and enhanced diagnostic imaging capabilities at CVH.

This investment helps ensure that patients across the Comox Valley and surrounding communities have access to high-quality breast imaging technology, improving early detection capabilities and supporting better health outcomes close to home.

“We are incredibly grateful to CIBC for their commitment to advancing healthcare in our region,” said Rhonda Stevens, Co-Executive Director of the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation. “Their generosity directly impacts the quality of care we can provide and supports earlier, more accurate diagnoses for our patients.”

The new mammography unit represents a significant step forward in modernizing diagnostic services at CVH, helping to reduce wait times and improve the patient experience through more precise and efficient imaging.

The contribution from CIBC reflects a shared commitment to community well-being and underscores the importance of partnerships in strengthening local healthcare systems. Gifts from foundations, donors, and community partners continue to play a vital role in bringing leading-edge medical technology to Vancouver Island.
