The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation is proud to acknowledge a generous donation of $20,000 from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 in Courtenay, directed toward the purchase of four Broda chairs for the Comox Valley Hospital.

The Courtenay Legion has been a steadfast supporter of the Healthcare Foundation for more than 25 years, with cumulative giving now exceeding $330,000. This extraordinary legacy of generosity has had a profound and lasting impact on healthcare in our community, and we are honoured to recognize the Legion’s continued leadership and commitment.

“We are deeply grateful to the Courtenay Legion for this thoughtful contribution,” said Rhonda Stevens, Co-Executive Director of the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation. “Their generosity will have a direct and lasting impact on patients and families in the Comox Valley.”

Broda chairs are specialized hospital chairs designed to provide comfort, mobility, and dignity for patients, particularly those with complex care needs or who spend extended periods in hospital. These chairs will be shared between the Medical and Surgical Units, offering patients and their families greater ease during some of their most vulnerable moments.

The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to the Courtenay Legion for their remarkable generosity and unwavering dedication to enhancing healthcare close to home.
