For nearly three decades, the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) branches across the Comox Valley have quietly and steadfastly extended their service with a shared commitment to the health and well-being of others as they strengthen the fabric of our community.
The Legion’s mission remains clear: to serve Veterans, including military and RCMP members and their families; to promote Remembrance; and to serve our communities and our country. Through their advocacy, their giving, and their spirit of service, they continue to embody the very best of what it means to serve.
Thanks to the time and dedication of Legion members — and the community’s continued support of the Poppy Fund and Legion events — local branches have collectively contributed close to half a million dollars to the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation over the years. These contributions have helped fund vital and specialized medical equipment, ensuring Veterans, their families, and neighbours across the Valley receive the best possible care close to home.
The Legions’ ongoing support continues to play a vital role in strengthening community health and ensuring local care teams have the tools they need to serve with excellence.
As the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation prepares to launch a new campaign for advanced diagnostic equipment, we are inspired by the Legions’ proud tradition of generosity and service — a tradition that continues to uplift and care for this community in meaningful ways.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to our local Legion branches – RCL Branch #17 Courtenay, RCL Branch #160 Comox, RCL Branch #28 Cumberland and RCL Branch # 211 Bowser for their enduring commitment to Veterans, families, and the greater community.
