Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation Welcomes New Board Chair and Directors

The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation (CVHF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Aubrey Lively as Board Chair, following three years of service on the Foundation's Board of Directors. Lively succeeds Susan Auchterlonie, who is completing eight years of service, including the past two years as Board Chair.

"Aubrey brings a thoughtful, community-focused approach to leadership and a deep commitment to strengthening healthcare close to home," said Rhonda Stevens, Co-Executive Director of the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation. "We are excited to welcome Aubrey into this role and look forward to working alongside her as we continue to enhance healthcare for everyone in the Comox Valley."

Since joining the Board in 2023, Lively has played an active role in advancing the Foundation's work and helping expand its impact throughout the Comox Valley.

"I am drawn to this opportunity for many reasons," said Lively. "I have seen firsthand the importance of a strong healthcare system and believe healthcare is a cornerstone of a vibrant community. It is an honour to serve as Board Chair and work alongside fellow directors, staff, donors, and community partners in support of exceptional healthcare in our region."

The Foundation is also pleased to welcome Michele Fryer, Christine Helpard, and Russell Tibbles as new members of its Board of Directors. Collectively, they bring valuable professional expertise, community connections, and leadership experience. Together with returning directors, they will help guide the Foundation's strategic priorities and support its mandate to elevate healthcare close to home.

As the Foundation welcomes new leadership, it also extends sincere gratitude to Susan Auchterlonie for her many contributions over the past eight years.

"Susan's leadership, vision, and dedication have had a lasting impact on both the Foundation and our community," said Avry Janes, Co-Executive Director of the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation. "On behalf of our Board, staff, donors, healthcare partners, and the community we serve, we extend our heartfelt thanks for her years of service and the legacy she leaves behind."

Lively officially assumed the role of Board Chair following the Foundation's Annual General Meeting in September 2026.
