Metropolitan Hospitality Continues to Bring Comfort and Care to Vancouver Island
The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation, Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation, and Victoria Hospitals Foundation are celebrating the continued generosity of Metropolitan Hospitality, which operates Holiday Inn and Motel 6 properties across Vancouver Island. Its teams and ownership are making a meaningful difference for patients, families, and healthcare providers across the region.
Over the past year, participating properties across Vancouver Island have contributed a combined total of $8,400 to support healthcare across the region. This ongoing generosity has come through guest-driven programs, staff initiatives, and community fundraising efforts, helping strengthen patient care and enhance the experience of patients and families in hospitals throughout the Island.
“Supporting healthcare in the communities we call home is incredibly important to our teams and ownership,” said Lorri Schafer, Vice President Commercial Sales Metropolitan Hospitality. “We’re proud to continue working alongside the hospital and healthcare foundations and grateful to our guests and community members who continue to get involved. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for patients and families when they need it most.”
That spirit of giving continues this September through Giving for Good, an InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) initiative that encourages acts of kindness in more than 100 countries. As part of this year’s campaign, Holiday Inn teams across Vancouver Island are collecting new stuffed animals, with tags attached, for young patients receiving care in hospitals throughout the region.
For children facing medical procedures, tests, or hospital stays, a simple stuffed animal can provide comfort and reassurance during an unfamiliar and often stressful experience. The toy drive gives community members another opportunity to join Metropolitan Hospitality in bringing a little extra comfort to children and families when they need it most.
Community members can also support the hotels’ Toonies for Tots initiative throughout September. As a thank-you for supporting the campaign, participating Holiday Inn locations are offering a 10% discount on meeting space rentals through December 2026 to anyone who donates stuffed animals or contributes to the Toonies for Tots collection.
The three Foundations recognize the impact that can be achieved when businesses, healthcare organizations, and communities work together. This collaboration helps create better experiences for patients and families while strengthening healthcare across the region.
Thank you to Metropolitan Hospitality, its teams, ownership, guests, and community partners for your continued generosity and commitment.
