The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation is pleased to acknowledge the generous support of the Comox Valley Lions Club, whose most recent gift of $25,000 will fund the purchase of a specialized vein finder for the Cancer Care department at Comox Valley Hospital.

This donation continues a remarkable partnership that spans more than 25 years, during which time the Comox Valley Lions Club has contributed over $120,000 to support critical healthcare needs across the region.

The new vein finder is an important clinical tool that will significantly improve the experience of patients receiving cancer treatment. By clearly identifying veins beneath the skin, the device helps reduce patient discomfort, anxiety, and bruising, while also increasing efficiency and confidence among clinical staff.

The Cancer Care department at Comox Valley Hospital provides approximately 4,400 cancer care treatments annually, supporting hundreds of local patients and their families. Tools such as the vein finder play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely, compassionate, and high quality care close to home.

“The Comox Valley Lions Club has been an extraordinary partner in advancing healthcare in our community,” said Rhonda Stevens, Co-Executive Director of the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation. “Their long standing commitment and generosity continue to make a tangible difference for patients and care teams at Comox Valley Hospital.”

The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to the Comox Valley Lions Club and its members for their leadership, generosity, and unwavering dedication to improving healthcare for residents of the Comox Valley.
