photo_robertAs a 20 year survivor of incurable follicular lymphoma it was necessary for me to take chemotherapy treatment, the first in the last 10 years, commencing last November. Along the way, some serious hurdles were encountered. It is with sincere appreciation that I recall the dedication of Drs. Astrope and Tinmouth in overcoming these potentially life-threatening challenges. During this period I also recall well the dedication and care received from the staff in many departments including emergency, ultrasound, X-ray and CT scanning. New Years was spent on the second floor under the care and support of the nursing staff there. How those nurses do such a fine job under such stressful conditions, all within a variable work schedule is beyond me.

But it is with special appreciation that I want to acknowledge the professional care and genuine personal support received from all the staff members in the chemotherapy unit…Jill, Mary, Coral, Kim and Dr. Engman. Really, their work is exemplary. Oh, and I must not forget “Rick” from the blood unit who made that sometimes challenging operation seem so easy. One fellow patient actually stated he looked forward to coming. So did I!

I’m honored to have this opportunity to express my gratitude to St. Joseph’s hospital for my care from November 2008 to May 2009.
