The Views at St. Joseph’s has a visionary plan for renewing and enhancing seniors’ services in the Comox Valley. Our vision begins with redevelopment of our beautiful, waterfront, Comox property, including construction of a 192 bed dementia village that provides people experiencing moderate to severe dementia, as well as the most medically complex residents, with a home-like, non-institutional, dignified living environment. Using an innovative model of care, the new dementia village will decrease stress for the people living there while maximizing opportunities for residents to engage, as fully as possible, in familiar and meaningful activities.

The broader vision includes creating a dynamic community of care where people can age in place. Future plans include development of independent living, respite beds, and supportive housing to provide for the varying needs of people as they age. Comox Valley demographics for the 75+ age population are predicted to almost double over the next 20 years. By 2034, there will be more than 6,000 additional people aged 75+ in the Comox Valley compared to today. Dementia numbers are also on the rise, placing further demand on the need for care and housing for these residents. The Views at St. Joseph’s is very excited to continue its mission of providing exemplary care to the residents of the Comox Valley, working closely with the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation and our many other valued partners. It has been inspiring to receive the continuous, generous support of this community and for this we thank you.”
