The Pediatrics Department at the Comox Valley Hospital is a very special place. When our children are sick, the warmth and care provided by exceptional staff means everything to us.

Ron Fortin, long-time Foundation supporter, is making sure children who are in the hospital over the holidays are treated to some extra love and a bit of joy through their illness.

When we asked Ron about his giving spirit, he recalled time with his father. Each year they would go to Eaton Centre to buy toys to donate to kids at Christmas. Now at 75 years of age and retired from the military, Ron continues this tradition in the Comox Valley. In fact, Ron provides more than toys… he pops in regularly with purchased goods like socks, hats, toiletries, and comfortable clothing so we can provide these items to some of the more vunerable patients at the hospital or for long-term care residents at Cumberland Lodge.
